1. Entrepreneurial Achievers Have Tremendous Desire
Achieving a significant, challenging goal is sometimes quite simple. The goal is so dominant little else matters. This level of hunger is a powerful, moving force that excites, motivates, and propels.
A burning desire manifests itself only when someone looks not at the challenge, but at the reward. Achievers with this kind of desire see the opportunity as fun. To them, the pleasure is in the journey, not the destination. An extraordinarily high belief in the value and worth of the goal anchors the intensity of one's desire to achieve. Significant achievers have an obsessive need, a dominating desire transcending ordinary thought.
Moving an idea or business out of the starting blocks is like the space shuttle leaving Cape Canaveral. The thrust required to clear the launch pad and travel the first 10 miles downrange is several times the power required for the remaining trip. Likewise, getting a business or idea off the ground requires its own form of thrust in the early going. Raw, gut-level desire provides the mental fuel to create this movement. Desire elevates the opportunity from a struggle, which is mere work, to a challenge, which provides entrepreneurial achievers with purpose and gratification.
