7. Entrepreneurial Achievers Are Persistent

Persistence is powerful. An achiever can fall short in other areas and compensate for it with persistence. Persistence is to achievement what repetition is to learning.

Effective salespeople know most successes occur on the fourth or fifth call. If they quit after just two or three, they'll probably never make the sale. Regardless of talent, preparation, or product knowledge, a salesperson never achieves substantial success without persistence.

While critically important, persistence is a difficult characteristic to practice. The temptation to give up too soon is strong.

Like most sports, life is a game of inches, not feet or yards. Persistence plunges us forward. Many of the wealthiest, most successful achievers have reached their goals only after overcoming enormous obstacles and self-doubt.
